Limited edition McDonald’s milkshake that inspired terrifying viral Tiktok videos coming to Australia

The viral Grimace Shake is coming to Australia, a popular TikTok star has claimed.

Famed food reviewer Russ Eats shared the news on his TikTok page this week, telling his fans the purple McDonald’s milkshake will soon arrive Down Under.

‘Righto, some breaking news, you’re hearing it here first. The Grimace Shake is coming to Australia. Here’s the proof,’ he said in his video.

‘Two separate restaurants have the syrup on order, and here’s the other one with the Fanta Raspberry underneath,’ he said.

Russ posted proof via screenshots that showed McDonald’s stock orders featuring the shake.

‘This is a pretty reliable source, and no, this isn’t the Grimace deal that we wanted with the adult Happy Meal’ he added.

The limited-edition Grimace Shake was reintroduced by the restaurant chain in the United States last year.

It was a tribute to a long-forgotten mascot, and inspired a wave of memes and videos that has even forced the fast food giant itself to join in.

Grimace first appeared in the 1970s as part of a campaign designed for young children, he was originally introduced as a villain who stole people’s shakes, but quickly morphed into a cheerful character.

The horror-infused trend tagged #grimaceshake took off on TikTok.

Thousands of videos show Gen Zers sipping the sugary drink and then cutting to them playing dead or injured with the purple drink streaming from their nose, mouth or head.

McDonald’s did not initially comment on the trend – likely taken aback by the morbid response – but on Tuesday tweeted ‘meee pretending I don’t see the grimace shake trendd,’ alongside a picture Grimace looking stunned.

Other big corporations have been shocked by the trend, The Sims even posted their own purple character in response to the McDonald’s tweet.
