No VIP treatment here! Adam Lambert appears flustered as he is forced to play musical chairs at one of Justin Hemmes’ restaurants in Sydney to make room for other diners

There was no VIP treatment for American star Adam Lambert at Justin Hemmes’ restaurant The Paddington in Sydney on Wednesday night.

The singer, 42, appeared a little flustered after a waitress asked him to move closer to his table.

She requested the If I Had You hitmaker move closer to the friends he was dining with to make room for two female guests being seated at a table next to him.

Lambert was then forced to squeeze on to the end of his table after two guests sat next to the table beside him.

The songwriter and his group eventually got up and moved to another table altogether while the two women stayed where they were seated.

He was joined by his three fellow coaches Guy Sebastian, LeAnn Rimes and Kate Miller-Heidke as they left Channel Seven’s Sydney offices earlier this month.

The new faces replace last year’s departing trio of coaches: Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy and Jason Derulo.

Rimes has had more than 40 charting singles since rising to fame as a country music star at the age of 13 with her 1996 single Blue.

Meanwhile, fans know new coach Lambert from his role fronting Queen, and singer Miller-Heidke is best known for her tracks The Last Day on Earth and Zero Gravity.

Sebastian said of returning to the panel for his sixth year: ‘It’s so good to be back on The Voice! It is always very special to be a part of a show that continues to not only uncover fresh Aussie talent but also shine a bright, well-deserved light on so many talented singers.

‘Adding the insane talent of LeAnn, Kate and Adam on the show this year is going to be killer! They’re all such amazing, world-class artists who I know will bring something fresh and incredible to the season. Let’s go!’

Sonia Kruger will also return as host, presiding over the competition as a new group of aspiring artists take to the stage hoping to turn their singing dreams into reality.
